The Genesis of Shark Island Dive

Our story began in 2009 as Fuvahmulah’s very first registered diving center—Farikede Divers. Founded by Lonu, fondly known as "Lonubreak," the center was established to share the magic of Fuvahmulah’s vibrant marine life with divers from around the world. The name "Farikede Divers" was inspired by the legendary farikede Plateau dive site one of the prime dive sites where divers often encounter Whale sharks, Silvertip sharks, Hammerhead sharks, Thresher sharks, Oceanic Mantas, Mola Mola, Trevally, and Grey Reef Sharks.

What started as a small team of friends passionate about diving has grown into something truly special. Over the years, we've evolved and rebranded as Shark Island Dive, but our core mission remains the same: to provide unforgettable diving experiences in one of the world's most unique dive destinations.
